When it comes to knowing how to cut chicken wings then the chances are that the process is a lot easier than you think. To be honest, there are just several steps that you need to follow in order to do this correctly and the entire thing is just going to take a matter of minutes. So, let’s get started.
Table of Contents
1. Hold it correctly
The first thing to do is to hold the chicken wing correctly in your hand. Ideally, put your index finger in the middle of the wing and just squeeze the wing slightly with your thumb and middle finger. By doing so, you will then start to open up the joint making it easier for you to then cut it.
2. Cut the joint
As you apply pressure and the joint opens up, you then need to use your knife and continue to cut the joint until it pops open and separates. This does not require too much cutting and it will be easier than you think.
3. Move the knife
After the joint has popped open, you then need to move the knife and insert it from the underside of the wing in order to really start to pull the wing apart.
4. Pull the knife through the joint
Thanks to the cutting that you have done, you should know be able to simply pull the knife through the rest of the joint just keeping in mind that it does not need a lot of pressure and the knife should largely slide through without too many problems.
5. Repeat the process with the other parts of the wing
After cutting through the joint you can then repeat the same motions with the tip of the wing as well as its middle section in order to completely remove it from the rest of the chicken and if you have done it correctly you will have something resembling the wings you see elsewhere.
As you can see, it really is a simple process to follow although you obviously need to take some care with the knife and some people do prefer to use scissors if they are strong enough. However, you hardly need to be an expert to ultimately produce the perfect looking chicken wings. All that is then left to do is to cook it.
